"I just wanted to come in there for a nice visit," Smith said
before the Ole Miss spring game."I wanted to get reacquainted with the
coaching staff and get a better feel for the atmosphere at Ole Miss."
His older brother, Rashawn Smith, has enjoyed his time in Oxford and wants younger brother to play next to him on the next level.
"He loves it there at Ole Miss. You take care of business there at Ole Miss and the tradition is great. He likes where they are going with the program, and so do my parents."
Younger brother, Dee, has also built a good relationship with the Ole Miss staff.
"I know the coaching staff very well since my brother is up here. I'm up there all the time. It can only go up from here. I just like the way coach Freeze is building the program and where he's going with it."
The Rebels have not offered yet but he hopes one will come.
"They mainly want to see me cover more. They want to play me at defensive back. They want to play me at safety up there, so they want to see me more in space. They want to see how my hips are and keeping my speed up. Hopefully I show them what they want to see at their camp."
Who all has offered?
"Mainly the schools that have offered are the ones I didn't predict. Some of the ones that I did predict (to offer) have not offered yet, so I'm very excited about it. Right now I have 11 offers - MSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Miami, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, N.C. State, UAB, USM and one more. Just can't think of it right now."
Who is showing the most love?
"The most love I would have to go with Tennessee, Cincinnati, Arkansas State and USM."
Smith talks about the Vols.
"Tennessee, I love Tennessee. The campus was beautiful when I visited there. The coaches were great. I like the atmosphere there too."
Cincinnati's recruiter has done a good with with the Florence, Ala., product.
"The guy recruiting me is a very cool guy. He seems pretty laid back. I talk to him very often. I plan on visiting soon."
Timetable for a decision?
"I'll probably have a top five by the end of a summer and then commit at the end of my season."
