The New England Patriots continued to make moves on Monday.

Rookie LB Tyrone McKenzie has been placed on injured reserve, OT Mark LeVoir has been placed on the Reserve/PUP list, and WR Brandon Tate has been placed on the Reserve/N.F.I. list, the team announced Monday.

McKenzie, 6-2, 240 pounds, was drafted by the Patriots in the third round (97th overall) out of South Florida. McKenzie played in 49 games with 36 starts during his collegiate career at Michigan State, Iowa State and South Florida. He played in 11 games at Michigan State as a true freshman in 2004 before transferring to Iowa State in 2005. After playing for Iowa State in 2006, he transferred to South Florida for his final two collegiate seasons.

LeVoir, 6-7, 310 pounds, was claimed off waivers by the Patriots from the St. Louis Rams on September 1, 2008. He played in all 16 games for New England in 2008 and made two starts at right tackle. LeVoir originally signed with Chicago as a rookie free agent out of Notre Dame in 2006. He spent the entire 2006 season and part of the 2007 season on the Chicago practice squad before being signed to the St. Louis 53-man roster midway through the 2007 season.

Tate, a wide receiver from North Carolina, was drafted by the Patriots with the first of their two third-round selections of the 2009 NFL Draft, (83rd overall). Tate, 6-1, 195 pounds, finished his collegiate career as the NCAA leader in combined kick return yards with 3,523 yards and the ACC career leader in kickoff returns (109) and kickoff return yardage (2,688).

Biography:
How Acquired: Selected by the New England Patriots in the third round (97th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Pros:
(2009) New England Patriots: Third round draft pick. Injured knee in rookie minicamp. placed on Reserve/Injured list during the preseason and done for the year.

College: South Florida
2007 USF: The Bulls’ leading tackler with a USF single-season record 121 tackles at strong side linebacker, and was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. 78 of his tackles have been solo, with 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Tied a USF single-game record with 18 tackles in the season finale at Pitt. Seven games with 10 tackles or more. Had high totals despite the fact that he usually came out of the game on passing downs and in nickel formation. Also blocked a kick against Rutgers.

2007 USF Transfered to USF from Iowa State, and is currently sitting out his mandatory transfer year while waiting for a hardship waiver.

2006 - ISU - Collected 250 tackles, including 129 at Iowa State in 2006, during his last two seasons of football.
2005 - ISU - Was named defensive scout team player of the year, sitting out after transferring.
2004 Michigan State: Played in 11 games as a true freshman, making three tackles.

Riverview High School: Ranked among Florida’s top 50 prospects by the Tampa Tribune. first-team All-Hillsborough County selection by the Tampa Tribune. Second-team all-county pick by the St. Petersburg Times. played in the Dec. 6 Hillsborough County All-Star Game in Raymond James Stadium. rushed for more than 1,400 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior for coach Dan O’Regan at Riverview (Fla.) High School. averaged 7.7 yards per carry in 2003. produced four 200-yard rushing games as a senior, including an 80-yard TD run. picked up 230 yards vs. Jefferson. rushed 20 times for 205 yards and four TDs vs. Brandon. had 165 yards and three TDs vs. King, scoring on runs of 4, 45 and 19 yards. suffered a broken leg in the second game of his junior year and missed the remainder of the 2002 season. qualified for the 2004 state 4A track championships in the 110 hurdles.
