A 3-star mammoth offensive lineman who was rated the 83rd best offensive tackle in the country by Scout.com. Named 5A second team all-state, and ranked 12th best player in Tampa/St. Pete area by the St. Pete Times. One of the top two-way linemen in the Tampa area, Popek really emerged as a senior. He played at 6-5 and 230 as a junior before putting together a great senior year at a much bigger size. Popek also, paved the way for two backs that combined for more than 1,400 yards, and was named All-Hillsborough first team Chose USF over Illinois and Vanderbilt. |
