2-star prospect ranked the 65th best strongside linebacker in the country by Scout.com. Earned all-conference, all-county and defensive MVP honors at Lake Mary after he recorded 104 tackles, 9 for a loss, 3 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He was also named a First Team Linebacker for the 2007 all FNL team, and played in the Central Florida High School All-Star Football Game. As a Junior, Lanaris was named First Team all-County after he recorded 122 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 forced fumbles and one interception that he returned for a touchdown. He was also team captain and was voted the Defensive Player of the Year by his teammates. In his sophomore season, Lanaris recorded 65 tackles and four sacks. He also runs a 4.61 40. Also lettered in baseball (3 yrs.), and Member of the honor roll. Chose USF over UCF, Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Louisville.
