2007 USF: Utilized his redshirt season. Was named the USF OVERACHIEVER AWARD - Presented to the freshman football player who achieved outstanding performance levels in the areas of strength and conditioning while demonstrating an intense, tireless work ethic.
West Boca Raton HS: McGowan is a talented TE/OL prospect. Was used primarily as a blocking tight end in high school, only catching aught about 15 passes as a high school senior, and 6 passes as a junior. Has great blocking skills and run's a 4.8-40. Will play either TE or guard for the Bulls.
Very versitile and athletic player and a three-sport star. while playing basketball, he shared Player of the Year honors from the Boca Raton News, averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds, and earned class 5A all-State Honorable mention while playing forward. As a junior he averaged 17.8 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 2.0 blocked shots, and was named second team All-Area.
