2007 USF: Utilized his redshirt season.
King HS, Lithionia, GA: Region’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior when he had 77 tackles, including 10 sacks and 19 tackles for loss. Also caused five fumbles and recovered three. Blocked one punt and one field goal and also had 26 QB hurries. He was named Class 5A region defensive Player of the Year.All-DeKalb County and an all-Region player as a junior and senior. Honorable mention all-state as a senior.
He is fast and athletic, and Hampton can play either defensive end or linebacker for the Bulls and can play both with equal intensity, tenacity, and cause havoc in the backfield.
Hampton was heavily recruited after finishing his senior season with 79 tackles, 21 of them for a loss, 10 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one blocked field goal, one blocked punt, and also had 26 QB hurries. He was named Class 5A defensive Player of the Year.
Hampton can play either defensive end or linebacker for the Bulls and can play both with equal intensity, tenacity, and cause havoc in the backfield.
