2008 USF: Pupello transferd to USF in the spring semester and was granted a hardship waiver in April and is eligible to play this season for the Bulls. Pupello will have three years of eligibility remaining
Tight end and former Jefferson high school product Trent Pupello joins USF after spending his redshirt and freshman seasons at the University of Florida.
Pupello, who did not receive playing time at UF this fall, played for current USF offensive line coach Mike Simmonds during his high school days at Jefferson.
“Trent brings a great work ethic and hard-nosed brand of football to USF,” said Simmonds. “He plays the game the right way, the USF way, and will help bolster our talent level.”
Pupello was a two-way player at Jefferson. He ranked in the top-40 of the 2006 Rivals.com Florida Top 100 prospects list and was rated No. 17 at his position nationally. He also had 10 sacks as a junior and led the Dragons to the Class 3A state championship game, Jefferson’s second title game appearance in three years
