| On July 25, 2008, the St. Petersburg Times reported, "USF announced Friday that the school has released incoming 6-foot-11 freshman power forward Teeng Akol from his scholarship ..."
"Akol ... was told this week that he would not be accepted into the university."
Teeng, a native of the Sudan, competed at Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York for two years. He had a solid senior season for OSNA in 06-07, showing the ability to score from the perimeter as well as deliver points around the rim.
Came to the U.S. in October 2005.
He then transferred to IMG. Rated 42nd best center in the country by ESPN.com and 60th best power forward by Scout.com.
Akol also attended African Hope Learning Center in Cairo, Egypt. |
