The USF SuperBull was held Saturday night, with some of the top talent in the area and beyond in attendance competing under the lights at Raymond James. By the time the event was over USFNation.com found out that the South Florida Bulls picked up another verbal commitment towards the 2011 recruiting class.
Bulls' fans have become accustomed to hearing good news involving commitments following the USF SuperBull camp, and even though the players we expected to commit haven't yet, USFN did learn that the Bulls have indeed picked up another commit for the 2011 recruiting class
His name is Zack Bullock, a 6'3.5, 200 pound hybrid OLB/DE from Sebring HS, who was one of the top performing linebackers at the camp, and is the latest prospect to pledge his commitment to USF.
"Yes sir I committed to USF just a few days ago," said Bullock. "I like USF a lot, and I love the coaching staff over there," said Bullock. "I really like the campus, the locker rooms, the facilities and love the stadium."
Bullock is the Bulls newest commit, but he didn't actually commit at the SuperBull, but did so a few days earlier. He was at USF two weeks ago at the Sling & Shoot and Big Man challenge, participating in the big man as a defensive end, but said he was coming back to compete in at the SuperBull as a linebacker. He was offered a week later and committed shortly afterwards.
"I'm real excited, and the staff seemed real excited that I chose them," said Bullock. "Everybody was real nice and welcomed me to the family, and I felt real comfortable."
At Sebring he played a little of everything DE/WLB/ SS/ and a little TE, recording 45-50 tackles, 6 for-a-loss, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 recovered, 1 interception, & 18 QB pressures.
He's a tall lanky prospect with long arms and even though he has versatility, he has a similar build to USF linebacker Jaquian Williams, and said he's being brought in as a Hybrid strong side linebacker that can also put his hand on the ground as a defensive end. He said he's been talking to several schools, but USF, Iowa State, and Western Kentucky have offered and were on him the hardest.
"I'm a Florida kid, and of all the Florida schools, USF is the closest to my family, Gainesville is like 3 ½ hours away, Miami is 2 ½ -3 hours away, and Tallahassee is like 4-6 hours away."
"They're a good division one program and they play everybody, FSU, Miami, Florida, all the top programs. I can get the same amount of exposure at USF, and my family can easily come watch me play. That's what sold me, that and the stadium. I can't wait to play in a pro stadium on game days, that's going to be awesome! I love everything about the school."
