Bulls lead the Seminoles 14-0, and writer Corey Long shares his first half notes & thoughts from the press box.

BULLS KICKING WOES CONTINUE

By Ralph Long

With Maikon Bonani sidelined until 2010 it looks like it will be a weekly struggle for USF in the placekicking department. In the first quarter the Bulls failed to take advantage of a fumble recovery by Nate Allen when Eric Schwartz missed a 32-yard field goal to the left.

The Bulls missed their second field goal of the half when Schwartz missed a 37-yarder from the right as the clock ran down.

Schwartz assumed the starting job from Delbert Alvarado last week after making a kick late in the 59-0 victory over Charleston Southern.

Honoring Keeley

Senior linebacker Chris Robinson wore number 10 in honor of fallen Bull Keeley Dorsey

PRESS BOX SIGHTINGS

Among the visitors in the press box at Doak Campbell were members of the FSU 1999 National Championship team including NFL alumns Corey Simon and Peter Warrick. And also former FSU volleyball player and fitness model Gabrielle Reece.

It should be noted that sportswriters, who don't exactly have the reputation of being ladies' men, needed to coerced to talk to Reece by one of the FSU SIDs.

LUCKY 7s

B.J. Daniels' 77-yard pass to Theo Wilson was the longest play of the season for the Bulls and the longest in either player's careers.

To cap the 99-yard drive, Daniels threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to tight end Ben Busbee, the second of the predominately blocking tight end's career.

And with 2:32 left in the first half Daniels 73-yard touchdown pass to Sterling Griffin was the second-longest play of the season.

Bulls lead Noles at the half 14-0

PACKING 'EM IN

The paid attendance for Saturday's game was 83,524, the 11th largest crowd in FSU football history and their largest since 2005.

By all accounts this was the largest crowd the Bulls has played in front of. Their historic 26-23 victory over Auburn in 2007 which was played in front 82,617.
