Less than a month after getting his release from South Florida, Forward Eladio Espinosa has found a new school.

Two weeks after being granted his release, University of South Florida Freshman forward Eladio Espinosa has announced that he’ll be transferring to Marshall.

“We encouraged Eladio to stay at USF,” said Heath. “However, Eladio felt he would have a better opportunity to play more in another situation. We appreciate his efforts this past season.”

The 6-foot-7, 220-pound Espinosa played in 32 games with 12 starts for the Bulls while averaging 14.9 minutes per game. During the season he averaged 1.8 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 44 percent from the field and from the free throw line.

Espinosa will have three years of eligibility left after sitting out the 2009-10 season.

Before coming to USF, Espinosa played at Hargrave where he was rated the 38th-best power forward nationally by ESPN.com after averaging 8.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Espinosa will join Marshall Sophomore point guard Damier Pitts, who also played at Hargrave.

With Espinosa's departure, the Bulls now have two scholarships available.
