Former Bulls linebacker Tyrone McKenzie who was drafted by New England Patriots in the third round of the NFL draft is out for the season with a torn ACL.

The Patriot promising rookie linebacker suffered the injury when he was participating in one-on-one drills and became tangled up with a running back during the first session of the team's mini-camp last weekend. After going down clutching his knee, was able to walk off the field on his power, but didn't return to practice.

After selecting McKenzie in the third round (97th overall), T-Mac was possibly being looked at as a replacement for Teddy Bruschi who's entering the final year of his contract in 2009.

Now it appears that McKenzie who had three straight seasons that he has totaled at least 100 tackleswill have to wait until 2010 to make his mark on the NFL.
