Bulls Release OC Greg Gregory

Saturday night USF head coach Jim Leavitt decided he wanted to go in another direction when he announced that Greg Gregory has been released from his duties as offensive coordinator.

According to a Saturday press release, Greg Gregory has been released from his duties as offensive coordinator by Bulls Head Coach Jim Leavitt.

"Greg is an outstanding coach and I appreciate everything he has done for us. It is time for our program to move in another direction," said Leavitt.

Gregory came to USF in 2005 as a tight ends coach, and was elevated to OC in 2007, leading a Bulls offense that set 9 school records.

In 2008 Gregory coordinated a Bulls offense that returned ten starters and led the Big East in yards, but struggled to score, and only had a 55 percent red zone efficiency this past season. The Bulls started strong, but lost 4 of the last 5 games while the offense struggled.

A replacement has not been named and the Bulls will begin a search for a new offensive coordinator immediately.
