On Monday the Big East announced that a pair of familiar names took home the weekly men's basketball honors from the BIG EAST Conference as USF freshman guard Dominique Jones was tabbed BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for the fourth time, and Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody earned Player of the Week honors for the third time this season. The exciting USF freshman averaged 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two games during the week for the Bulls. He scored 31 points in a 79-75 loss to Seton Hall. Jones is the top freshman scorer in conference play, 0.8 points per game ahead of Greene and Jones both have earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honor four times, and lead the conference this season. In the two head to head matchups with Greene, Jones has outscored Greene by an average of seven points (26 ppg to 19 ppg), while shooting better from the field (44.7% to 44.8%), 3-point range (35.7% to 33.3%) and free throw line (83.3% to 75.0%). He also has more assists (5 to 1) and steals (4 to 2) and 11 fewer turnovers (1 to 12). The 6-9 Green had more rebounds (18 to 6) and blocks (4 to 3). Harangody averaged 32.0 points and 10.5 rebounds, while shooting at a 58.7 clip from the field in a 1-1 week for the Irish.
