Ben Axon is a very talented running back from the state of Florida and the Bradenton (Manatee)…
Manatee RB gets offer from Bulls
"My coach Rod Frazier was coached by Carl Franks while he was at the University of Florida."
Frazier who is now the head coach at Manatee played for UF from '96 till 2000 at fullback, a position that Axon could also play at the college level.
"Coach (Frazier) is a very respectable guy." Axon added, "He is a friend to me on and off the field. He teaches me a lot of the things he learned in college, things that Coach Franks taught him at UF."
On the field Ben is a bruising tailback, he finished his junior season with over 1,000 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns. He's already acquired 5 offers from USF, WVU, FSU, SC and Clemson.
"I'm good at making a guy miss. But depending on the situation, I can run a guy over. Whatever it takes to get the first down."
This spring Axon is running track to stay in shape. He runs the 200 and does some high jump.
"I'm not a track superstar, I just do it to get faster."
Axon is not favoring any team in particular, only the teams that have offered. He is familiar with two of the schools in that bunch, UF and USF.
"I went to a junior day at UF and last year I was at the USF game when they played North Carolina."
This summer Ben wants attend camp at the schools that have offered him. He's also set a couple goals for the 2008 season.
"My goals for my senior season are to help our team to state and win it, rush for 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns."
