Stats don't lie, that's why 6-foot-5, 230 pound, Dyron Dye
out of Seminole High School is receiving early attention from some big-name teams. Right now Dye is holding half-a-dozen offers, a number that could double by the spring evaluation period.
"I have offers from Kentucky
, FIU, UCF and South Carolina
Other schools showing him interest are UF, LSU
, USF and Purdue
. Dye has been starting full-time since his sophomore year and even got a few starts as a freshman.
"I'm quick off the ball, my coaches say I have a great first step" Adding, "I don't know who I'd compare myself to, but I watch the (New York) Giants linemen and try to learn from them."
In the offseason Dye is working on his feet, but mainly he wants to add weight.
"If I can add about 5 pounds by the start of my senior year, I'll be where I need to be. I want to be about 240 by the time I graduate."
This summer Dye plans on going to the Down & Dirty camp along with working out with his team.
"I don't think I'll be going to any college camps. My coach doesn't really like that. Instead we rented a field for the weekend in Cocoa and our whole team is going to practice there for the weekend."
Although he's got several offers there are a few out there that Dyron would like to have. One of them is Florida State
, the other is South Florida
"I like USF, I thought they were going to offer. I don't know what happen, I've been waiting to see if they're going to offer for a long time."
"I met coach Simmonds, he gave me a questionnaire and me and my dad filled it out. Since then I've been waiting for a response. Same thing happen with Florida State, they contacted me a while back and I haven't heard anything else since then."
Dyron Dye says there are two major factors in his decision, one will be the coaching staff and the other is academics. Dye currently has a 2.5 core GPA and hopes to major in Business after he graduates high school.
