Signing Day is here and USFNation.com has all the breaking news! All day we will be updating the LOI list as the recruits send them in.
South Florida
has received a Letter of Intent from cornerback
Quenton Washington
of North Fort Myers High School.
The 5’11-165 pound Washington was a virtual unknown before this season, but he first impressed coaches with back-to-back 4.44 forty times at the USF senior camp over the summer. Then in the one-on-one drills he locked down receiver after receiver. After his successful camp he told USFNation that if the Bulls offered he was ready to commit. The offer came and Washington stayed true to his word.
“I committed because USF is where I wanted to go from the beginning.” Adding, “I thought they were going to offer at some point, but it came a few days after the camp and I knew I was ready to commit.”
Washington had a stellar senior season. Playing corner he snagged an incredible 12 interceptions, to go with 54 tackles, and a fumble recovery, and was named All-State Second Team Defense for class 5A.While playing on offense he had 26 catches for 474 yards, and 5 TD's. He also rushed 6 times for 88 yards with a score and also returns punts.
“When I got the offer I was really happy. I got along great with the coaches and I knew some of the players already on the team. I know
Nate Allen
real well and
Taurus Johnson
as well.”
Washington is a talented and versatile player with mad speed, and a ball hawking instinct that can play multiple positions for the Bulls once he gets to campus.
“Having friends already on campus will make it easier to call Tampa home.”
Check back later with USFNation.com as we’ll have a full Q & A with Quenton after Signing Day.
