It's Official: Sampson Genus Signs LOI
Posted Feb 7, 2007

Signing Day is here and has all the breaking news! All day we will be updating the LOI list as the recruits send them in.

South Florida has received a Letter of Intent from center Samson Genus of Columbia High School in Lake City.

The 6’1-305 pound Genus chose the Bulls over Central Florida and FAMU

“I chose USF, because I liked the environment. When I went down there the coaching staff was impressive and I liked the fact they are a young team.”

Genus had a solid senior season and was named All-State Class 4A Second Team Offense.

“I thought that I would commit late, but I knew this was the right decision for me.”

Genus is the 34th ranked center in the nation by, but can play other positions on the line as well.

“I can pass block or run block, also I pull (block) real well and I got good upper body strength. Last time I benched, I put up 405.”

Qualifying shouldn’t be an issue as Genus has between a 3.4 and 3.5 GPA, and a test score to go with it.

Check back later with as we’ll have a full Q & A with Sampson after signing day
