TAMPA, FLA. (January 12, 2007) -- Mike Ford, a standout running back who rushed for 2,836 yards at Sarasota High School in 2004, has been admitted to USF and will be permitted to participate in spring football.

Ford, 6-2, 220, will maintain freshman eligibility in the fall after attending Hargrave Military Academy in 2005-06.

Mike Ford of Tampa, Fla. was Alabama's highest ranked running back recruit in a deep Class of 2005 that included Ali Sharief, Glen Coffee, and Roy Upchurch. He failed to meet academic requirements for Alabama and is spent one year at Hargrave Military Academy.

Ford is now part of what is shaping up to be one of the best recruiting classes in USF history.
