Cadet, 6 foot and 196 pounds has had a tremendous senior season. Leading Miami Central (11-2) to the class 6A Region semifinal, losing 39-12 to Northwestern Miami. He's an athletic quarterback, who could also play receiver at the college level. But is said to being recruited by the Bulls as a QB. This season he passed for 1,500 yards, with 15 touchdowns, to go with 300 rushing yards and one rushing score.
When asked what type of a quarterback he is Cadet said, "I'm a duel threat quarterback," Cadet who runs a 40 in 4.45 likes to run the spread offense also added "I can beat teams with my legs too. I can read defenses well and make plays. I'm always in watching film trying to improve."
Many schools have been showing interest in Cadet for some time. As for offers he has a bunch, including South Florida, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina. Also Florida hasn't offered, but has shown some interest.
Some have projected Cadet as a receiver at the next level. However, when we asked Cadet he replied "All those that I mentioned are offing me as a quarterback, but Auburn, they wanted me as a receiver."
We asked Cadet what things were important in making his decision, and he replied "The organization, how organized they are as a program, getting wins in the football program already, academics are big, and also the head coach."
When asked if playing early was a consideration. "Yeah of course, I'm not going to settle on any school and sit back. If things work out I could play early, but if I have to wait, then you know what I'm saying. I know I have to go through a learning point, but you know."
When asked if he had a top 5, Cadet replied, "Tennessee is number one, I like them a lot, Virginia Tech, but I'm not sure what's going on with them, South Florida and North Carolina."
Cadet says he hasn't been to USF before but knows Courtney Denson, and played with Sabbath Joseph, and has followed the Bulls some this year. "Yeah, I caught a couple of games this year. I also saw when they played West Virginia they won that game. I also see they got a freshmen at quarterback over there."
"Coach Leavitt he's all right, but I haven't talked to him much, I talk to Coach (Rod) Smith, I cover all the bases with him, and he tells me they want somebody athletic, also I like to run the spread offense, and from his point of view of me South Florida would be a good school for me."
Cadet tells USFNation that he likes USF, and has set up an official visit. "I have North Carolina this weekend coming up, then I have Tennessee on Jan. 13th, and I have South Florida on the 19th of January."
Cadet also runs track but says football is his specialty. As to grades, "I have a 2.8 GPA, and I got a 16 on my ACT, but I just took it again Saturday."
As to when Cadet would like to make a decision, "By late December or January" we then asked if he would make a decision before his visits in January, he added "No, I don't think so, probably after my visits."
His trip to Tampa on January 19th will be with teammate and standout running back Gordon Warner, who has also had a terrific season, and is very high on the Bulls.
