4-Star JUCO WR Planning a Visit With USF

4-Star JUCO WR Planning a Visit With USF

There have been rumors about JUCO wide-out Larry Freeman having interest in the Bulls. USFNation talks to him and gets the inside scoop! Read on to learn more about Freeman and what he thinks of USF.

Every year there is a player or two being recruited by South Florida that, if signed, would immediately push USF into the national spotlight. There are a couple this year, and one of them is a JUCO receiver named Larry Freeman. He currently attends Pearl River in Mississippi, but is originally from Florida. As a freshman he had over 800 yards and 7 touchdowns, this year is slightly different. He has actually seen quite a bit of action at quarterback and receiver. He's mostly used as a runner from the pocket, Freeman has 2 rushing scores and two receiving, while helping his team to an 8-1 record.

On the recruiting front Freeman is being pursued heavily from top programs. He has offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Central Florida, Iowa State, South Carolina, South Florida and Kansas State to name a few.

"Coach Leavitt came to our campus about a week ago." Adding, "I've met him before. He came last year and offered me a scholarship as a freshman."

Where does USF stand with the 4 star receiver?

"I live about an hour from Tampa and I might be looking to get away from home for a little while. I've been to the school, I like it and everything, but right now I'm leaning toward going out of state."

It's not all bad for the Bulls, Freeman has close to a dozen offers and says the Bulls are still in his top 5. As a matter of fact he also plans to use one of his official visits on USF.

"Right now I only have South Carolina scheduled. I know I'll visit Tennessee and I want to also hit USF for a visit. All of them will be after my season ends."

All the Bulls can ask for is to be close come December/January. If they are still in his top 5 by then, all bets are off and they could pull off a shocker. We'll keep you updated with Freeman as signing day nears.
