Stephen Nicholas Named to Nagurski WATCH LIST

TAMPA, FLA. (June 8, 2006) – USF senior linebacker Stephen Nicholas is one of 55 players on the Bronco Nagurski Trophy Watch List announced today by the Football Writers Association of America. The trophy is awarded to the top defensive player in the nation at the end of the season.

Stephen Nicholas, a graduate of Jacksonville Lee High School, has started in each of his three seasons at South Florida, and he enjoyed his best year yet for the Bulls in 2005, when he earned second team all-BIG EAST honors. In 2005, he had a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss, including seven sacks among his 79 tackles. In his three season, Nicholas has 224 tackles, including 38.5 for losses and 12.5 sacks.
