Two Are out Front for 6-Foot-5 Washington

A pair of schools are on top for 6-foot-5 Washington (D.C.) St. John's wide receiver, Scottie Washington.

Scottie Washington didn't have a ton of balls thrown his way in a 35-2 victory over Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy on Friday night, but the massive wide receiver made his opportunities count when they presented themselves. The nation's No. 192 wide receiver on Scout.com is a long-strider who fell just inches short of a touchdown after turning a wide receiver screen into a 50-yard gain.

"Coming into this game, everyone doubted us to lose," Washington said. "After this game, we just have the most confidence going into conference play and we just have to ride it into the championship.

"I thought I played decent and I feel like I blocked pretty well. On that one screen, I have to give it to my offensive line because they blocked perfectly. If it wasn't for them, there would of never been that play."

Washington, who possesses elite size for a wide receiver at 6-foot-5, 215-pounds, is much more than just a red-zone threat who out jumps nearly defender who lines up across from him, resulting in a number of scholarship offers.

"I have offers from Wake Forest, Boston College, Connecticut, Ohio, Nebraska, Toledo, Towson and Virginia," Washington said. "The University of Connecticut and Wake Forest (are my leaders)."

The senior playmaker hopes to make it to games at Connecticut and Wake Forest sometime this fall.
