After a strong impression from the South Florida Bulls' coaching staff at their junior day on Saturday, 2015 3-star Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview running back, Karan Higdon, felt no need to wait and pulled the trigger for Willie Taggart and the Bulls a day later.
"Yes he did (commit)," said Todd Johnson, Riverview's coach.
Johnson says the Bulls are receiving a kid who works his tail off day in and day out, while possessing all of the qualities to be a terrific leader on and off the field.
"He's a hard-nosed, physical runner who will be a leader on the team before it's all over with," Johnson said. "Karan reminds me a lot of Travis Henry as a runner. He has great speed and cutback ability, but just a real top-notch person.
Before issuing his verbal commitment to the Bulls on Sunday night, Higdon held offers from Tennessee, Iowa, Kentucky and Wake Forest.
The talented instate running back also excels in the classroom, holding a 4.0 GPA.
