After landing one of the premier tight ends in the Sunshine State this week with Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard's, Kano Dillon, the South Florida Bulls picked up another explosive offensive weapon on Thursday night with Niceville (Fla.) wide receiver, Tyre McCants, becoming the latest instate product to take his talents to Hillsborough County.
"I went up there right before the season and I really loved the campus," McCants said. "I really liked the atmosphere and it made my mind up. It was different, fun and enthusiastic. I can't really explain it. It was the best place I visited."
After finishing his senior campaign with a sensational 818 receiving yards, 560 rushing yards, 540 return yards, and 18 total touchdowns, the Bulls' coaching staff plans to use McCants' versatility to it's fullest once he arrives on campus.
"The coaching staff said they're going to use me out wide, in the slot, running back, just anyway to get the ball in my hands."
The coaching staff was just as excited to add another piece of the puzzle going forward.
"I spoke with coach Holt first and he was very excited," McCants said. "He had me call coach Taggart and he was excited about what I bring to the table. Coach Taggart said I made his day."
McCants will take his official visit to South Florida on Jan. 17, and a visit to Georgia Tech on Jan. 31 is a possibility.
