TAMPA, FL.---It's nothing new to South Florida freshman Chris Perry, but the Bartow native was named the Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season by the American Athletic Conference on Monday. Along with the talented freshman, highflying senior forward Victor Rudd was placed on the American Athletic Conference's honor roll.
Perry, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound post presence, averaged 15.5 points in their two games this past week, while shooting 76.5 percent from the field on 13-of-17 shooting. Perry recorded 13 points in a 66-65 loss to Santa Clara, and a season high 18 points in a 61-57 win against Bradley. This is the fourth time Perry was named the Rookie of the Week by the AAC.
Rudd, a 6-foot-9, 240-pound athletic forward, averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds. The preseason second team selection recorded 19 points and nine rebounds against Santa Clara, and 17 points and seven rebounds at Bradley. This marks the second week that Rudd received honor rolls honors from the AAC.
