USF's Perry Named AAC Rookie of the Week

South Florida freshman forward, Chris Perry, was named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

TAMPA BAY, FL.---- With already receiving the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honor earlier this year, South Florida big man, Chris Perry, was awarded the same prestigious award for the second time on Monday.

The Bartow (Fla.) native was named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday by College Sports Madness, and Connecticut's, Shabazz Napier, was named the Conference's Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-8, 250-pound force was a double-double machine the past two games. In a fun filled contest against George Mason last Wednesday, Perry recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds on 5-of-7 shooting. The freshman also protected the paint, recording two blocks as well.

Perry followed up his strong play against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday in a 66-64 win inside the Sun Dome. Perry was dominant in the paint, finishing with 14 points and 14 rebounds. To add to the 14 rebounds, eight of them were offensive rebounds to go along with a block.
