Junior Reggie Campbell, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound offensive weapon for Largo (Fla.) High School, has seen his interest from collegiate schools ascend in recent months.
Campbell displayed his football expertise on Friday night against Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit in a 34-13 victory and USFNation.com caught up with rising junior on his team's victory.
"The win was a big confidence booster for us after that East Lake game we lost," Campbell said. "Defensively, we played very well and we dominated. I had about three or four catches for about 50 yards."
Currently right now, Campbell holds an offer from Middle Tennessee and has heavy interest from Mississippi State, South Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Iowa State and Louisville.
"Mississippi State is showing the most interest," Campbell said. "I should be getting an offer from them in about a month. It would be big because it's a SEC school."
As for the nearby South Florida Bulls, coach Willie Taggart has been in steady contact with the young pass catcher and Campbell hopes to visit the Bulls next week.
"Right now, they're struggling, but I think the Bulls will be coming up in about two or three years," Campbell said. "By the time they get there, I'll probably have an offer from them and they could be in the top 25. Coach Taggart came to the school yesterday and I just shook his hand. I went to USF last weekend and I think I might come back next weekend when they play Miami."
When Campbell makes his selection in the future, distance could be a factor.
"I'd say academics and somewhere kind of close to home," Campbell said.
Being a 2015 prospect, Campbell's in no hurry to make a decision.
"No, I don't have a timetable."
