The countdown to Signing Day continues and it is busy time for Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor tight end Lucas Wilson.
"I have not taken any official visits yet," said Wilson. "But I'm probably going to South Florida this weekend and that next weekend – I haven't decided where I'm going yet.
Besides South Florida, Wilson said he is still hearing from Cincinnati, East Carolina, Missouri, and North Carolina State. Of the five schools, East Carolina and South Florida have offered.
The three-star tight end said N.C. State and South Florida would be by for in-home visits this week. He also said each of those schools along with Missouri and Cincinnati would like him to take an official visit to their school before he makes his decision.
While five schools are still recruiting him, the Mount Tabor standout said that N.C. State is the school that is standing out to him.
"I had tried getting in touch with them the past few weeks and I was able to get in touch with Coach (Clayton) White because I had talked to him when he was at UConn," Wilson said. "I would say that is the school that I'm most interested in and that they are my leader."
"It's close to home and their education is good. They have a really good engineering school, which is what I want to go into. So it seems like a good fit."
Wilson had an offer from the old Wolfpack coaching staff and admitted if the new staff reaffirmed the offer, he could commit on the spot.
FOX Sports Next's 37th-ranked tight end does not have a date set, but he said he would prefer to make his decision in the near future.
"I'm not sure when I will make my decision," Wilson said. "I guess it all depends on what happens with those three schools that haven't offered me yet. But I would like to make my decision as soon as possible."
