ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - One of the recruits that played the recruiting process closer to the vest than most, Seffner (Fla.) Armwood defensive back Leon McQuay opened up on television as he announced his intent to sign a national Letter of Intent with Southern Cal.

Keeping things quiet for most of the week of practice at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, Seffner (Fla.) Armwood defensive standout Leon McQuay spilled his commitment plans in the fourth quarter of the game featuring 80 of the top class of 2013 prospects in America.

The four-star safety narrowed his choices to Michigan, Vanderbilt, Florida State, Oregon and USC and he took official visits to each before announcing for USC on Friday.

“I'm going to be playing college football at the University of Southern California," he said."

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder knew of his decision for some time, but he wanted to announce his intentions at the Under Armour All-America game on national television.

McQuay, who sees a lot of opportunity at USC for him to also be successful in the music industry, is the No. 6 safety in the class of 2013 on FOX Sports NEXT/
