PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Interim Rutgers coach Dave Cox was more than comfortable in front of a microphone when speaking after today's 88-79 victory over UAB. In the first game since Mike Rice's suspension, Cox led the Scarlet Knights to a their seventh victory of the season.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The Mike Rice suspension hit associate head coach Dave Cox as hard as anybody. Thrown into the fire as interim head coach during the three-game suspension, Cox wanted to show his team that he was right their with him.

Before tipping off against UAB, Cox stripped off his warm-up attire to unveil a full Rutgers basketball uniform. How did the team respond? By making 10 straight shots to open the game and jumping out to a 25-point lead.

In what Cox said was the first press conference of his life, he spoke with the media about the three days since the suspension and the 88-79 win over UAB.
