Syracuse won at Arkansas behind hot shooting from their senior forward James Southerland. He tied a school record with nine three-pointers and scored a career-high 35 points as the Orange left Fayetteville (AR) with a 91-82 victory.
Michael Carter-Williams filled up the stat sheet as well adding 17 points, 8 assists, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals. Brandon Triche got hot during a key second half run, and finished with 17 points and 4 steals.
The Orange held Arkansas to under 40% shooting from the field, while they hit nearly 48% of their attempts.
A 10-0 first half run gave the Orange an advantage that they would never relinquish. Syracuse improved to 5-0 on the season. They next face Eastern Michigan on Monday at 7pm in the Carrier Dome.
