Starr Breedlove, a point guard from Teaneck, N.J., spent the weekend at the University of Louisville and saw both of the women’s basketball victories.
On Monday night, Breedlove called U of L coach Jeff Walz and gave her verbal commitment. She will sign on Wednesday and has three years of eligibility left, picking the Cardinals over Seton Hall.
The 5-foot-6 Breedlove originally was headed to Washington but instead spent last season at Trinity Valley Community College in Palestine, Tx. She helped Trinity Valley to the junior college national title.
In her only season at Trinity Valley, Breedlove averaged 9.4 points, 6.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds. She is not playing team basketball this season and is attending ASA College at home, while working out with her father.
Breedlove will join Edwardsville, Ill., standout Emmonie Henderson and Southwestern Illinois point guard Janelle Cannon in the signing class for U of L.
