After weeks of speculation, Orlando Freedom receiver Jeff Badet ended his recruitment and announced on his birthday that he committed to USF and will be a Bull. The 6-foot, 172 pound 3-star receiver talks about his commitment, why he chose the Bulls and what Bulls fans should expect.

On Thursday Jeff Badet, a standout 3-star receiver out of Freedom high school in Orlando, made his official commitment to USF on his birthday.

“I have committed to USF and I’m very excited about it,” said Badet. “I feel very comfortable with my decision. I’m going to stick with it 100 percent, so I’m feeling very great about it.”

The 6-foot, 172 pound receiver had double digit offers and narrowed his choices down to South Florida, Louisville, and Boston College before choosing the Bulls.

“I chose USF is for a lot of reasons but mainly because they have a great coaching staff and the relationship I have with them,” said Badet. “I feel that there are a lot of good things going on at USF and they are a team that’s on the upswing.”

The standout receiver talked about the bond he has with the Bulls coaching staff, which was very important in his decision.

“I call Coach Fitch almost every day to talk about all kinds of things,” said Badet. “I also have a good connection with Receivers Coach Jerome Pathon. I feel that he can help get me to the next level, because he played in the NFL also.”

Badet has been to USF many times and fell in love with what USF had to offer him.

“I loved the campus, it’s one of the biggest in the country” said Badet. The football facilities are real nice, they have beautiful practice fields and really big weight room and I know I can go in there and get some good work in.  I also love the stadium they play in, because I’m also a Buc’s fan and always dreamed of playing in there, so that was another big plus for me.”

The Freedom prospect said that he already made his choice, but waited until his birthday to make it public, and talked about why he wanted to make an early decision.

“I actually called them a few weeks back and told Coach Fitch that I was choosing USF and with them 100 percent,” said Badet. “They were real happy because they know me Asiantii Woulard and JoJo Kemp are real close and are all coming to make things happen at USF.”

“I just wanted to make my choice so I could go into my senior season and focus on my team and not have to worry about recruiting,” said Badet. “I just want to let my team know that I’m with them all the way, with no distractions.

The standout receiver is also very good friends with USF QB commit Asiantii Woulard and that played a role in his decision.

“Asiantii has been waiting for me to get on board, we go way back and are close friends, so he was real excited,” said Badet. “I feel like we can go in there and bring USF a Big East Championship, I really do. I think we’re going to have a great recruiting class and make a big impact from the start.”

With his college choice made, Badet said he’s solid with the Bulls, but would sti;; like to take a few official visits.

“I do want to take some of my official visits, because you only go through this recruiting process once,” said Badet. “I’m definitely solid with my commitment to USF, that’s not going to change.”

Badet caught 46 passes for 718 yards with 11 touchdowns while adding around 350 kick returns yards as a junior, and with his senior season still ahead of him Badet said what Bulls fans should expect once he gets on campus.

“USF fans are going to get a really good slot receiver that can go in and create mismatches on the field, make big plays, and score touchdowns!” Badet said. “I’m real excited to let the Bulls fans know that I’m with then 100 percent.”
