Bulls Gus Gilchrists makes All-Tourney Team

USF senior Augustus Gilchrist, who helped the Bulls reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time wanted to impress the NBA scouts for the upcoming NBA Draft, The 6'9 forward didn't disappoint, averaging a league-best 16.7 rebounds, to go with his 13.0 points and 2.3 block average over the weekend, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

University of South Florida senior forward Augustus Gilchrist was named to Portsmouth All-Tournament team after helping lead his team to the consolation championship of the 60th Annual Portsmouth Invitational over the weekend in Portsmouth, Va. The P.I.T showcases the top college basketball seniors for NBA general managers and scouts prior to the June draft.

The USF senior Gilchrist helped the Bulls reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time and led USF in scoring (9.5 points) and blocks (39) this past season and wanted to impress the NBA scouts for the upcoming NBA Draft which takes place June 28 in Newark, N.J.

The USF star led Norfolk in minutes played with 31.3 minute average and didn't disappoint the NBA scouts. Gilchrist averaged a league high 16.7 rebounds, 13.0 points, and 2.3 blocks over the weekend, and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

The 6'10, Gilchrist strong performance at the Portsmouth Invitational began with a 12 points, 12 rebounds, 2 block night in the opener, then in game two had a game-high 17 rebounds with eight points and ended his tourney with a huge game finishing with 19 points and 21 rebounds..

Other players to make the All-Tournament team were Garrett Stutz (Wichita State), Wendell McKines (New Mexico State), Ricardo Ratliffe (Missouri), Henry Sims (Georgetown), Kyle O'Quinn (Norfolk State), Kevin Murphy (Tennessee Tech), JaMychal Green (Alabama), Jordan Theodore (Seton Hall), Kim English (Missouri), Ashton Gibbs (Pittsburgh) and Rakim Sanders (Fairfield).
