Smith likes the depth, wants more toughness

Bulls defensive back Coach Rick Smith talks about his unit after the halfway point of spring ball. Coach like the depth in the secondary, but wants to see more toughness out of the unit. Coach breaks down the corners and safeties, and says what he's looking for the most which is toughness.

Coach like the depth at the corner position, saying it's the first time he's had depth at corner back in his two years at USF, .

Coach breaks down the corners and safeties, and gives an progress report of the JUCO transfers, Fidel Montgomery and Joshua Brown, as well as redshirt freshmen Kenneth Durden.

Coach Smith said there is depth in the secondary, but wants to see more toughness out of the entire secondary unit. 

According to Smith, the one guy he can count on and is the toughest among the DBs is Mark Joyce

"The one I can depend on to be on the field is (Mark) Joyce. Joyce would be on the field, I believe, if his throat was cut . That's just how tough he is. He's just a tough mother and that's what you need. I've got one of them."
