Savannah Christian Preps defensive tackle DeAngelo Brown has spent the last few months taking visits to check each out programs that have offered him. The 6'1, 285-pound prospect has already taking unofficial visits to Louisville, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and Georgia Tech, and this past weekend took a trip to Tampa to check out what USF was like on game day.
"The game was real fun and I enjoyed it," said Brown. "The atmosphere was good, the stadium was great and I enjoyed everything USF had."
The 3-star prospect, rated the 85th D-tackle in the country got to see the Bulls beat UTEP 54-24, and liked how they played
"The game was good and they played well," said Brown. "I liked how the D-line crashed to the ball, and kept the pressure on. They looked good."
The Georgia product has never seen the Bulls play live and enjoyed the whole experience.
"I like that they play in a pro stadium, it was real nice," said Brown. "I also liked watching how the staff coaches up the players during the game."
Brown also liked talking with the USF staff and said the feeling was more than mutual.
"The coaches were real glad I visited and were very excited to see me," said Brown. "The staff was all real cool and straight up with me. I like the coaching staff a lot."
Brown has offers from USF, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, North Texas, and Georgia Southern among others but has narrowed his list to a top three schools.
"My top schools are Georgia Tech, USF, and Louisville," said Brown. "They're the ones recruiting me the hardest and the ones that stick out."
The standout defensive tackle talks about what puts the bulls among his top choices.
"I really like the coaching staff and what they're doing as a program," said Brown. "I also had a very good time on my visit."
As of now Brown doesn't have any other un-official visits planned or official visits, but will be beginning that process shortly.
"No sir, right now I don't have any other game visits set up," said Brown. "I haven't planned any officials yet either, but hopefully I can start soon.
As to when he'd like to make his decision, Brown doesn't have a timetable, but does know what he's looking for in making his choice.
"First is academics, I want to get my degree," Brown said. "I also want to play at a high level and be at place where I fit in and am comfortable at."Click here to share your thoughts with other USF fans!
