Well, day 5 practice is in the books and it was the first day in full pads, lots of excitement abound. It started raining about two hours before practice started and that rain carried on into practice. I tell you what the rain has really saved everybody from the blistering heat that would normally be present. When you consider that today was the first day in full pads, shade from the sun was welcome.

The only negative about the rain today is that it had a significant effect on offensive execution today. There were more than a few dropped passes and general problems. Coach Holtz was visibly and audibly upset at one point with the offense. Coach Holtz is a very friendly and possesses a very personable attitude but I will tell you what, he commands authority. When he is upset, the kids listen. With that said, I will say that the offense seemed sharper as the day progressed.

Today's practice report format will be a little different than yesterday's as yesterday was just to get you guys a feel of the format of practice and what goes on concerning drills and so on. Today, I focused on a lot individual plays made and the players who made them. I did spend some time with the drills but not as in-depth as yesterday. With that said, let us move on to the observations.
