Peach State DB D.J. White Chooses USF

Union Grove's D.J. White is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the Southeast and has been recruiting like he is. On Thursday the 6-foot, 180 pound standout DB decided to end his recruitment and play for the Bulls.

Skip Holtz and the USF staff received its fourth commit of the 2012 class when D.J. White, a 6-foot-, 180 pound cornerback from Union Grove in McDonough, GA chose to to play his college ball at USF

"Yes sir I just committed to USF," said White "I felt really comfortable when I went down there with the coaches and the area, and could really see myself living there It's a great academic program and I feel like they are really building something down there "

White had offers from top programs including Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, and Texas Tech, but ultimately chose USF.

"I feel great about my decision," said White "USF is a great place to live They have a great business program and they have a need for cornerbacks and I feel like I can fill that need "

The 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback from McDonough, GA finished his junior year with 20-tackles, three-interceptions along with 13-pass deflections, and at the recent NIKE camp ran a 4 43-40 and earned the defensive back MVP honors

"I'm a very physical player I'm pretty good at press coverage and off coverage," said White "I can play press and get physical and have good ball skills when the ball is in the air I can recognize plays and have good instincts "

White visited USF several weeks ago and loved his time on campus and has been high on the Bulls ever since
"I feel very good about my choice," said White "Thats where i wanted to go when I first stepped on campus I feel real good about it "
