USF Guards Burwell and Haynes to Leave Team

Two USF guards, sophomore Mike Burwell and junior Shedrick Haynes will transfer from the men's basketball team. The pair requested, and has been granted their releases.

As expected two South Florida guards, sophomore Mike Burwell and junior Shedrick Haynes will transfer from the men's basketball team. The pair requested, and has been granted their releases.

Over the past two seasons with USF, Burwell played in 50 games, starting five games, and averaged 1.5 points, 0.3 assists and 0.8 rebounds. Shedrick Haynes, who transferred to USF in the fall of 2010, averaged 1.1 points, 0.7 assists and 0.4 rebounds in 25 games this season.

The Bulls have senior point guard Anthony Crater and sophomore point guard Lavonte Dority returning and in the past month Coach Heath and the Bulls got verbal commitments from two JUCO guards in Anthony Collins, a 6-foot-1, 165 pound PG from Westbury Christian School, and Blake Nash, a 6-foot-1, 185 pound PG out of Williston College. Both are expected to sign with USF on Wednesday, the first day of the spring signing period
